WHAT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO:
Construct an argument based on evidence about the simultaneous co-evolution of Earth's systems & life on Earth.
ASSESSMENT:
Be able to explain how species evolved while Earth was changing.
Provide Evidence.

IMPORTANCE OF THE GREAT OXYGENATION EVENT
When did Oxygen 1st appear on Earth?
It is thought that prokaryotes (Bacteria) were the 1st organisms on Earth to use Oxygen
Then the prokaryotes evolved into Eukaryotes
The Eukaryotes began using the process called Photosynthesis.
The more oxygen in the atmosphere allowed for more species to thrive in their environment.
What evidence on Earth shows when Oxygen 1st appeared?
1. Iron Oxide is found in rocks (this is the banding patterns in rocks.
